Same thing happened to me! First night out, decocking the bow. Heard the pin sheer and got a pretty good gash and bruising on index finger. Something happened during decocking (found later that the pin was gone in the weeds, but did find the handle) and it ended up dry firing about 1/2 way down.

Good news, my regular dealer (not who I purchased the bow from as I was too far away and needed a new one) took the unit and returned it without any questions saying there was a lifetime warranty. It took a little less than a week and a half to have the unit back in hand. I put the unit on at camp and found out that a new handle wasn’t shipped! To be fair, I only told (and showed) my dealer that the pin sheered and the handle was useless. He didn’t ask to have it to send back and I didn’t think anything about it. So now I’m back in camp to hunt and no handle. SMH. I’ve got to hunt 1 night out of three weeks and it’s getting frustrating. Partially my fault for not thinking I’d get a full unit back, but still no hunting this weekend either.

The other thing I’d think would help with this crank, other than that pin, is that it be more like a large fishing real handle – a bit longer and have a “T” shape on the end for less slipping.

Excellent product. I like the rope cocking but wanted a mechanical crank which applied equal pressure to both sides of the rail and I believe this achieves that purpose. I own the Sub-1 Lite and will be using this for tournament shooting. The RSD is extremely easy to cock….smoothest cocking I have seen on a crossbow but I think that is also due to the poundage on the limbs and the cam design of the Sub-1 Lite. The only thing I would call a negative would be the lever for the strings/cord release/rewind….I think it could have been designed just a bit better?…but what do I know as I am just the shooter. It is a bit heavy but that can be beneficial for stability in the shot cycle. It does appear to be well manufactured. Overall a win for Mission.
